Ruins of a castle built during the Warring States period and flourished as the seat of the Koriyama clan during the Edo period. Now maintained as a park, the stone walls and castle tower site that convey the old appearance remain. From the top of the castle tower site, you can overlook the townscape of Yamato-Koriyama and feel the character of this town known for its goldfish aquaculture. While famous as a cherry blossom viewing spot, in summer the lush green foliage provides pleasant shaded areas for strolling.

About 7 minutes walk from Kintetsu Koriyama Station. Stone steps lead to the castle tower site, so comfortable walking shoes are recommended. Some areas have little shade, so in summer an umbrella or hat provides peace of mind.
