Spend evening peacefully on the lawn interacting with deer
About this spot
A park surrounding Todaiji and Kasuga Taisha, designated as a national natural monument famous for its wild deer. The spacious lawns are home to freely roaming wild deer, where visitors can feed them shika senbei (deer crackers) and take photos—a family-friendly experience that passes surprisingly quickly. As evening approaches, the sun softens and the entire park becomes pleasantly cool. Fukuuji Temple, where tonight's fireworks will be held, is located just east of this park.
Fireworks details
Name:
Date & time: 7/24 (Fri) Time TBA
Venue:
Tips
Tips
Walking distance from Todaiji. Deer crackers can be purchased at shops within the park. The deer may approach if you're holding food, so be cautious with small children.
Best time to visit
About 1 hour. Evening is a calm, comfortable time for both deer and visitors.
