View Buddhist Statues Carved into Seaside Rocks
About this spot
Numerous Buddhist statues carved into rock formations facing the Sea of Japan (日本海). According to local tradition, they were carved in the Edo period as a memorial for those lost at sea. Their quiet presence among the rugged rocks and sound of waves has a unique presence. Located close to Nishi Hama Beach (西浜海水浴場), it is an ideal spot to enjoy the grandeur of the Sea of Japan along with the scenery. The location is also convenient for heading to the fireworks venue.
