About this spot

A park developed on the site of Honjo Castle in the heart of Yuri-Honjo, which once flourished as a castle town. Known as a famous cherry blossom spot, the park grounds are dotted with historic remnants such as portions of moats and stone walls that evoke the castle's former presence. The walking paths surrounded by abundant greenery are relatively cool and comfortable even in summer.

2026年7月25日(土)開催、由利本荘市の子吉川河川敷で行われる本荘川まつり花火大会です。19時30分から21時までの約1時間30分、夜空に約3,000発の花火が次々と打ち上がります。地域住民が中心となって受け継いできた夏祭りの花火で、川面に映る光の反射も見どころのひとつです。地元ならではのアットホームな雰囲気の中、家族で夏の夜を締めくくりましょう。

Tips

荒天時は中止や順延となる場合があるため、当日の開催可否は事前に確認しましょう。終了後は周辺道路・駐車場が大変混雑するため、少し余韻を楽しんでから時間差での帰宅がおすすめです。
