A large-scale stone arrangement structure from the late Jomon period registered as a World Heritage Site as a component asset of the "Jomon Remains of Hokkaido and Northern Honshu." Two circular stone arrangements, the Manza Circular Stone Arrangement and the Nonakado Circular Stone Arrangement, remain within the spacious grounds and tell the story of how people lived and conducted rituals in ancient times. The adjacent Jomon Hall features displays and explanations of excavated artifacts, making it a valuable spot where families can experience the world of the Jomon period. Walking through the spacious ruins under the summer blue sky allows you to sense the flow of vast ages.

2026年7月26日(日)開催、大湯温泉の夏を彩る鹿角花火大会です。20時30分から、道の駅おおゆ周辺の夜空に花火が打ち上がります。山あいの温泉地ならではの静けさの中に響く花火の音と、湯けむり漂う町並みの組み合わせは、この地ならではの情緒あふれる光景です。1日を通して縄文遺跡や温泉を楽しんだ後の締めくくりにふさわしい花火です。

Tips

荒天時は中止または内容変更の可能性があるため、当日の開催可否は事前に確認しましょう。終了後は温泉街周辺の道が混み合うため、少し余韻を楽しんでから帰路につくのがおすすめです。

Tips

About 5 minutes by car from Michi-no-Eki Ooyu. Visiting the Jomon Hall is paid admission, but there are free outdoor ruins viewing areas. The summer sun is intense, so a hat or umbrella is recommended.
