An open-air museum spread along the banks of the Tama River, featuring relocated and restored buildings from the Meiji to early Showa periods that actually existed within Fuchu City. Charming structures such as thatched-roof old farmhouses and the former Fuchu Town Hall are scattered throughout the green grounds, perfect for leisurely strolling. You can also enjoy seasonal flowers such as plum and iris gardens, and the summer greenery is particularly beautiful. A planetarium is also on-site, providing enjoyment for visitors from children to adults. This is a perfect spot to experience both the history and nature of Fuchu during a relaxed afternoon before the fireworks.

2026年7月1日(水)19時30分から打ち上げられる東京競馬場花火は、約14,000発という都内でも屈指の打上数を誇ります。競馬場ならではの広大な敷地がそのまま観覧スペースになるため、広い空を独り占めするような開放感の中で花火を楽しめます。スターマインや大玉など多彩なプログラムが次々と夜空を彩り、芝生の上から見上げる迫力は格別。都市部にありながらスケール感の大きな花火体験は、府中の夏の一大イベントとして多くのファミリーに親しまれています。フィナーレの連発が夜空を埋め尽くす瞬間は、この1日のクライマックスです。
Tips
JR武蔵野線・府中本町駅から徒歩約5分、または京王線・府中駅から徒歩約15分。入場方法・料金・開門時刻は東京競馬場の公式サイトで必ず事前確認を(当日券・事前予約の有無が変わることがある)。終了後は府中本町駅・府中駅ともに大混雑するため、フィナーレ後しばらく場内で余韻を楽しんでから移動するのがおすすめ。荒天時の対応も公式発表で確認してください。

About 15 minutes walk from JR Musashino Line Fuchu-Hommachi Station (府中本町駅), or bus access is convenient. Admission: adults 300 yen, middle school students and below free. The planetarium requires separate fees and may require advance reservation, so check the official website. The grounds are spacious, so wear comfortable walking shoes. Note that admission may not be available after 5 PM, so plan to finish early.
Best time to visit
Approximately 1 hour 45 minutes required. In the soft afternoon light, the greenery and historic buildings stand out beautifully.
