Lake Chuzenji, situated at 1,269 meters elevation, was born from the volcanic activity of Mount Nantai (男体山). 二荒山神社中宮祠の例祭にあわせて奉納される、中禅寺湖畔の花火大会です。2026年7月31日(金)、湖上から打ち上がる花火が静かな湖面に映り込み、「逆さ花火」の美しさを楽しめます。標高1,269mの高原の湖に響く花火の音は、山々に反響してひときわ大きく感じられます。日光を代表する霊山・二荒山の信仰にゆかりのある、格式高い奉納行事としても知られています。
Tips
荒天時は中止になる場合があるため、当日は日光市の公式発表で開催可否を確認しましょう。夜は標高の高さゆえ真夏でも冷え込むため、羽織ものは必須です。終了後はいろは坂方面の道路が大変混み合うため、時間差での帰宅がおすすめです。

Best time to visit
Approximately 1 hour. The lake surface is calmest and most beautiful from morning through early afternoon.
