Descend by Elevator to the Observation Deck to Experience the Majestic 97-Meter Waterfall
About this spot
One of Japan's three most famous waterfalls, where water from Lake Chuzenji plunges down from a height of 97 meters all at once. Taking an elevator approximately 100 meters down to the observation deck, you'll be surrounded by a thundering roar and mist in an awe-inspiring scene. The waterfall viewed from near the base is spectacular, sure to draw gasps of wonder from children. The free upper observation deck offers equally impressive views.
Tips
The observation deck can get wet from spray, so wear easy-to-walk-in shoes. Strollers can fit in the elevator. Bring a light layer as it's cool even in summer.
Best time to visit
Allow approximately 45 minutes. Expect elevator queues around midday during holiday periods.
