This townscape, designated as a nationally important traditional building group preservation district, retains strong remnants of a port town from the Edo period. Grid-patterned merchant houses, tea house architecture, and temples line the winding streets, telling the history of Obama, which prospered as a port for northern cargo ships. Walking slowly through narrow alleyways while reflecting on life during that era provides a good opportunity for families to experience Japan's historical and cultural heritage.

小浜市の小浜湾、川崎地区一文字防波堤周辺を会場に開催される、夏の夜を彩る花火大会です。20時から30分間、若狭湾に面した小浜湾の夜空に花火が次々と打ち上がります。穏やかな湾に囲まれた立地から、海面に映り込む花火の光も美しく、港町ならではの情緒あふれる景色が広がります。「御食国」の歴史と港町の風情を巡った1日の締めくくりとして、家族で夜空を見上げましょう。

Tips

荒天時は中止となる場合があるため、当日は主催者の発表を確認しておきましょう。終了後は周辺道路が混み合うため、余韻を楽しみながら少し時間をずらしての帰宅がおすすめです。足元が暗いのでスマホのライトを用意しておくと安心です。
