A nationally designated Important Preservation District for Groups of Traditional Buildings that vividly retains the character of a merchant town dating back to the Edo period. Machiya (townhouses) featuring the distinctive tsumaire architectural style—where the gable end faces the street—line the streets, with shops handling Tanba Sasayama's specialty products and stores selling sweets made from black soybeans scattered throughout. Simply walking through the area allows you to experience the calm, castle town atmosphere, making it perfect for eating while walking and souvenir shopping. During the Dekansho Festival period, the entire town gains a summer festival atmosphere and liveliness.

2026年8月15日(土)〜16日(日)にわたって開催される丹波篠山デカンショ祭の締めくくりを飾る花火です。20時15分から20時30分までの短い時間に、約1,000発の花火が城跡の夜空に凝縮して打ち上がります。城下町を練り歩いたデカンショ踊りの熱気が最高潮に達したところで迎える花火は、夏祭りのフィナーレにふさわしい迫力です。歴史ある城跡を舞台にした特別な夜を、家族で見届けましょう。

Tips

荒天時は中止となる場合があるため、当日は丹波篠山市の公式発表を確認しましょう。花火の時間が短いため、開始10分前には見やすい場所についておくのがおすすめです。終了後は帰路が大変混雑します。

Tips

Within walking distance from Sasayama Castle Ruins. In summer, the sun is strong, so it's recommended to choose shaded streets for walking. Tanba Sasayama's specialty black soybean sweets are popular for eating while strolling.
