View the display of giant traditional kites passed down from the Edo period
About this spot
A museum that preserves the tradition of Kasugabe's ōdako (giant kite) flying, which is said to have continued for over 200 years since the Edo period. The museum displays giant kites that span dozens of tatami mats in size, and their scale is truly spectacular up close. Panels explaining the kite-making process and history are also displayed, allowing you and your children to learn and enjoy together. This is a perfect spot to feel the atmosphere of the Ōdako Festival, which takes place in the Showa district that will also be the stage for the summer fireworks festival.
