Spectacular Viewpoint of the Buddha Statues and Shimanami Kaido
About this spot
A mountain of approximately 227 meters elevation near Innoshima's center, known for about 700 stone Buddha statues called the "Five Hundred Arhat" carved in the Edo period, arranged along the summit area. Walking among these expressive stone Buddhas as you ascend leads to a vast panorama overlooking the islands dotting the Seto Inland Sea and the bridges of Shimanami Kaido. On clear days, the observation platform offers views stretching to distant islands—arguably the highlight of Innoshima sightseeing. The hike from parking to summit is manageable for families. You can also confirm the direction where tonight's fireworks will launch from here.

会場は当日混雑が予想されるため、場所取りは16時台からがおすすめです。荒天時は中止の可能性があるため、当日の開催可否は主催者の公式発表で確認を。終了後は橋を渡る道が混み合うため、少し余韻を楽しんでからの帰路がおすすめです。

About 10 minutes by car from Innoshima Flower Center. Comfortable shoes recommended for the observation platform. In summer, bring sun protection as shaded areas are limited. About 15 minutes by car to Shimanami Beach.
Best time to visit
Approximately 1 hour 15 minutes. Clear afternoon air allows views of distant islands.
