Pay Respects at an Ancient Higo Shrine and Rest Within Grounds Surrounded by Cedar Trees

About this spot

Enshrined in the center of Kosa Town, this shrine has long attracted faithful worshippers as a Shiki-Naisha (officially designated shrine) of Higo Province. The grounds spreading along the Midorigawa River are surrounded by towering cedar trees, offering quietness that makes you forget the hustle and bustle of the town. The shrine is also cherished as a deity for safe childbirth and child-rearing, making it perfect for family worship. Before the excitement of the Ayu Festival, experience a calm moment touching this land's history. The compact grounds are easy to navigate even with small children, which is another appeal.

Tips
