Stroll Through Pastoral Landscape with Pine-Covered Islands Dotting the Fields

A scenic spot once visited by Matsuo Basho, where the seafloor rose due to an earthquake during the Edo period, creating a rare landscape with islands dotting the rice paddies. What were once small islands floating in an inlet now remain as pine-covered hills in the midst of green rice fields, offering views that change with the seasons. From the observation platform, you can take in the entire landscape at a glance while enjoying historical romance during your walk.

2026年8月22日(土)19時から開催される、にかほ市象潟町の夏を彩る花火大会です。日本海に面した象潟海水浴場から約3,500発の花火が次々と打ち上がり、波の音と重なる打ち上げ音が海辺ならではの臨場感を届けます。出店のにぎわいの中、レジャーシートに座って見上げる花火は、夏の思い出にぴったりの光景です。海に面した開けた会場なので、どの位置からも花火をしっかり楽しめます。
Tips
荒天時は中止・順延となる場合があるため、当日の開催可否は主催者の発表で確認しましょう。終了後は周辺道路が混雑するため、少し余韻を楽しんでからの帰宅がおすすめです。足元が暗いので、スマホのライトがあると安心です。

About 10 minutes by car from Michi-no-Eki Shogutsunemu-no-Oka. In summer, the rice paddy bunds can be hot, so don't forget water and sun protection. The views from the observation platform are spectacular, so visit with plenty of time to spare.

Takes approximately 1 hour 15 minutes. The green rice paddy landscape looks beautiful in the afternoon sunlight.
