Stroll Through Castle Ruins Associated with the Sanada Clan

About this spot

The ruins of the famous castle built by Sanada Masayuki and known for repelling the great Tokugawa army twice. The park preserves historic structures such as the existing South Tower, North Tower, and West Tower, offering families an opportunity to enjoy historic exploration. The park is also known as a famous cherry blossom spot, and in summer the green foliage of the trees provides pleasant shade. An affiliated municipal museum displays items related to the Sanada clan.

2026年8月29日(土)開催、信州でも屈指の規模を誇る花火大会です。千曲川河川敷(常田新橋下流)から約8,000発の花火が打ち上がり、大小さまざまなスターマインが夜空を埋め尽くします。真田氏ゆかりの城下町を1日かけて巡った締めくくりにふさわしい、圧倒的なスケールのフィナーレです。上田盆地を囲む山々に音が反響する迫力も、この大会ならではの魅力です。

Tips

荒天時は中止や順延の可能性があるため、当日の開催可否は上田市の公式発表で確認を。終了後は上田駅周辺と周辺道路が非常に混雑するため、時間差での移動を心がけましょう。夜は冷えることがあるので羽織ものを忘れずに。

Tips

About 12 minutes on foot from JR Ueda Station (上田駅). Some areas of the park are unpaved, so comfortable walking shoes are recommended. Sanada Shrine (眞田神社) is just a short walk away.
