The site of Matsusaka Castle, built by Samurai Daimyo Ujisato Gamo, the castle tower is gone but its magnificent original stone walls remain, still impressive to visitors today. Counted among Japan's 100 Famous Castles, the park-developed grounds offer sweeping views of Matsusaka's cityscape. Shaded walking paths lined with lush greenery provide comfortable exploration even in summer. The construction method and massive scale of the stone walls testify to Matsusaka's former importance.

Tips
駐車場が限られる場合があるため、公共交通機関や近隣からの徒歩でのアクセスがおすすめです。夕方以降は虫が多くなることもあるため、虫よけ対策があると安心です。

About 15 minutes on foot from Matsusaka Station, or accessible by car. Stone-paved and gravel paths surround the castle, so comfortable walking shoes are recommended.
Best time to visit
Plan for about 40 minutes. Plenty of shade makes this walking course relatively comfortable even during the daytime.
