A shrine symbolic of a pottery town with porcelain torii gates and large water vessels
About this spot
The representative shrine of Arita Town, the home of Arita ware, where a large porcelain torii gate and an indigo-decorated large water vessel are placed within the shrine grounds, conveying to this day the unique form of faith of a pottery town. Situated on a small hill, the shrine grounds offer a panoramic view of the town of Arita, which is also a charm. With a history of being deeply revered by local kiln masters as the guardian deity of Sarayama, it is a must-visit place when visiting a pottery town.
Fireworks details
Name:
Date & time: 8/18 (Tue) 19:00–21:00
Venue:
Tips
Tips
About 20 minutes walk from Arita Station, or immediately by car. There are stairs to the shrine grounds, so comfortable walking shoes are recommended. Admission to the shrine is free.
Best time to visit
Takes approximately 50 minutes. The morning light beautifully illuminates the porcelain torii gate.
