A white sandy beach just outside Hyuga's city center, known for its gentle, shallow waves—a beach perfect for all ages. The beach is also famous as a mecca for surfing, and you may spot surfers riding waves from early morning. ユーモラスな表情の「ひょっとこ」の面をつけた踊り手たちが練り歩く、日向市を代表する夏祭りです。2026年は7月31日・8月1日の2日間、JR日向市駅前のあくがれ広場と中心市街地を会場に、15時から21時30分まで開催されます。おどけた仕草で踊るひょっとこ踊りは見る人を自然と笑顔にさせ、地域の団体が趣向を凝らした衣装やパフォーマンスで練り歩く様子は見応えたっぷりです。日向市街の中心部が祭り一色に染まる、地域を代表する夏の風物詩です。
Tips
会場周辺は歩行者天国になることが多く、ベビーカーでも見学しやすい環境です。長時間の観覧になるため、飲み物と休憩できる場所の確保をおすすめします。荒天時は内容が変更になる可能性があるため、当日の案内を確認しましょう。
Tips
Driving from the station is convenient. Morning hours are cooler and more comfortable for walking. When walking barefoot on the sand, be careful of shells and rocks.
Best time to visit
Approximately 45 minutes. The morning before the sun grows intense is the most pleasant time.
