In the vast pastureland of Toi Cape, the Misaki horses, a Japanese native wild horse species believed to have continued since the Edo period, still roam freely today. The sight of horses leisurely walking through natural grassland without fences is rare throughout Japan and is a unique highlight of Toi Cape. These horses are designated as a National Natural Monument, offering a valuable opportunity to observe them in their natural state up close.

国内でも数少ない野生馬の生息地として知られる都井岬で開かれる、火の灯りが幻想的な夏祭りです。都井岬観光交流館の周辺を会場に、日が沈む頃から炎の灯りがともされ、昼間に見た牧草地や灯台とはまた違った岬の表情を楽しめます。太平洋の水平線に沈む夕日から夜へと移り変わる時間帯に開かれる祭りは、岬という立地ならではのスケール感に満ちています。観光交流館には食事どころも備わっているので、祭りの前後に立ち寄るのもおすすめです。

岬までの道は夜間になると暗くなるため、車での来場は運転に注意しましょう。海風が強く冷えることもあるので、羽織ものを用意しておくと安心です。荒天時は内容が変更になる可能性があるため、当日の案内を確認してください。

As these are wild horses, maintain a safe distance and do not approach or touch them. The pastureland has little shade from the sun, so bring a hat and water to stay comfortable.

About 1 hour. During the day you can observe the horses actively moving around.
