A small hot spring town with a history of prosperity as a shipping port for Iwami Ginzan silver. The streetscape with wooden inns and public bathhouses lining the streets is designated as an Important Traditional Building Preservation District, retaining strong traces of the Edo through Showa eras. Simply walking slowly through the narrow streets gives you the sensation of having slipped back in time, making it a popular exploration spot for families.

温泉津温泉夏祭りは、石見銀山の積出港として栄えた温泉津港周辺で開かれる、地域に根づいた夏の行事です。2026年は8月8日に開催され、江戸情緒の残る町並みに提灯の灯りがともり、露店や催しでにぎわいます。世界遺産・石見銀山とともに歩んできた港町ならではの、歴史の重みを感じさせる落ち着いた祭りの雰囲気が魅力です。昼間にめぐった町並みが、夜には祭りの灯りでまた違った表情を見せてくれます。

会場周辺の道は狭いため、公共交通機関か少し離れた場所への駐車がおすすめです。荒天時の開催可否は主催者の発表を確認してください。

Within walking distance from Tatsugozenshin Shrine. The streets are narrow, so be cautious with vehicle traffic. If you want to enjoy touring public baths, allow plenty of time.
