About this spot
A covered shopping arcade stretching from in front of JR Fukuyama Station, lined with restaurants and souvenir shops. On the day of the Fukuyama Summer Festival, the entire area in front of the station becomes the festival venue, so it's recommended to finish eating at an early time before the start. The arcade's roof protects you from sunlight and light rain, so you can relax without worrying about the weather. As evening approaches, festival lanterns gradually begin to light up along the street, and you can feel the city's rising sense of excitement.

福山市の中心部を舞台に、8月13日から15日までの3日間にわたって開催される福山の夏の風物詩です。駅前一帯の通りに太鼓や踊りの音が響き渡り、提灯の灯りが夜の街を彩ります。福山城を望む立地で行われる祭りは、昼間に歩いた城下町の街並みが夜には一変して祭り一色に染まる、そのギャップも楽しみのひとつです。初日となる8月13日の夜は、これから続く3日間の幕開けとして特に活気にあふれています。
Tips
駅前一帯は祭り期間中、歩行者天国や交通規制がかかることがあります。ベビーカーでの人混みは大変なので、抱っこ紐の準備があると安心です。帰りの電車が混み合うため、終演直後を避けて時間をずらすとスムーズです。
Tips
As the festival start time approaches, restaurants become crowded. Entering before mid-4 PM is safer. Use restrooms at restaurants while eating; this will save you trouble during the nighttime festival.
Best time to visit
Takes about 1 hour 10 minutes. The time just before the festival starts is the most relaxed for dining.
