Board the ropeway departing from the rooftop of Awa Odori Kaikan and reach the summit of Maiyama at 290 meters elevation in just a few minutes. From the observation deck, a grand panorama unfolds showing the Tokushima city skyline, the flow of the Yoshino River, and even the Kii Channel in the distance, allowing you to identify the performance stages you'll visit later. Maiyama, long cherished by Tokushima residents, offers genuine mountain views despite its proximity to the city center.

400年余りの歴史を持つ、日本を代表する盆踊り「阿波おどり」の本場・徳島市での開催です。2026年は8月11日から15日までの5日間、藍場浜演舞場をはじめ市内各所の演舞場で18時から22時にかけて開催され、県内外から集まった連が次々と踊りを披露します。鉦・三味線・太鼓・笛による「ぞめき」のリズムに乗って、男踊りの力強さ、女踊りの優雅さ、子ども連の元気な踊りが目の前を通り過ぎ、見る者を自然と踊りの世界へ引き込みます。「踊る阿呆に見る阿呆、同じ阿呆なら踊らな損損」の掛け声そのままに、街全体が一体となる夜です。

Tips

有料演舞場は事前にチケットを購入すると着席で観覧できます。無料演舞場や街角では立ち見での観覧となり、早めの場所取りが必要です。当日は広範囲で交通規制がかかるため、公共交通機関の利用がおすすめです。

Board from the Ropeway Station on the 2nd floor of Awa Odori Kaikan. A round-trip ticket offers better value. Bring a hat and beverages as the summer sun is strong at the mountain peak.
