あわら湯のまち駅前の湯のまち広場を舞台に、8月8日・9日の2日間行われる北陸有数の温泉街の夏祭りです。浴衣に身を包んだ参加者たちが桶やひしゃくを手に、温泉のお湯を豪快に掛け合う光景は他の祭りにはない独特の熱気があり、見ているだけでも笑いが起こる賑やかさです。温泉地ならではの湯気の立つ雰囲気の中、太鼓や音楽も加わって会場全体が一体となって盛り上がります。子ども連れで参加する場合も、濡れても良い服装で臨めば安心して祭りの輪に加われます。
