曹洞宗大本山・永平寺の門前町として知られる永平寺町松岡地区で、九頭竜川の河川敷を舞台に行われる夏の灯籠流しです。日が暮れると、たくさんの灯籠が静かに川面に浮かべられ、ゆらゆらと流れていく光景が夕闇の中に浮かび上がります。ご先祖様への想いを込めて灯りを流す伝統行事は、賑やかな夏祭りとはまた違った、しみじみとした情緒を感じさせてくれます。家族で静かに川辺に腰を下ろし、灯りの行方を見守るひとときは、夏休みの特別な思い出になるはずです。
Tips
河川敷は足場が不安定な場所もあるため、小さなお子さん連れは川に近づきすぎないよう注意しましょう。夜は川風で肌寒く感じることがあるので、羽織るものがあると安心です。荒天時の開催可否は主催者の発表を確認しましょう。
