A comprehensive park representative of Koriyama City, preserving the history of development from the Meiji period to the present day. It features sprawling lawns, a track and field stadium, and baseball fields, as well as a rose garden where seasonal flowers can be enjoyed, making it a cherished gathering place for residents. When visited along with Kaiseiyama Daijingu Shrine (開成山大神宮) located within the grounds, you can experience both the park's verdant landscape and the shrine's quiet atmosphere. With plenty of shade, the walking course offers relatively comfortable conditions even in the summer heat.

2026年の郡山うねめまつりは8月7日(金)・8日(土)の2日間、郡山駅前大通りを中心に開催されます。地元の伝説に由来する祭りとして毎年多くの踊り手が参加し、そろいの浴衣で通りを練り歩く「うねめ踊り流し」が最大の見どころです。駅前大通り周辺の「うねめde縁日」では屋台も並び、家族連れでにぎわいます。日中に公園や科学館で郡山の街を満喫した後の締めくくりに、地域あげての夏祭りの熱気を味わいましょう。

Tips

本番当日は駅前大通り周辺が交通規制になるため、公共交通機関の利用が便利です。人出が多いため、小さな子ども連れは沿道の後方や広めの場所での観覧が安心です。
