You can tour a vast samurai residence with 38 interconnected rooms, experiencing how high-ranking samurai lived during the Edo period. With its gardens and tea rooms, along with museum exhibits and interactive experiences on the grounds, you can deepen your understanding of Aizu's history learned at Aizu-Tsurugajo and Iimori Mountain from the perspective of daily life.

2026年の会津まつりは9月19日(土)から21日(月・祝)まで、鶴ヶ城や神明通りを中心に会津若松市内一帯で開催されます。会津藩の歴代藩主やゆかりの人物に扮した「会津藩公行列」をはじめ、日ごとにさまざまな行事が繰り広げられる、会津地方最大級の秋祭りです。提灯行列や踊りの催しも行われ、城下町の通りが歴史絵巻のような雰囲気に包まれます。鶴ヶ城や飯盛山、武家屋敷で会津の歴史をたどってきた1日の締めくくりに、この地に息づく伝統行事の迫力を味わいましょう。

Tips

会場周辺は交通規制がかかる区間があるため、公共交通機関の利用が便利です。行列見物は場所取りが早いこともあるため、良い場所で見たい場合は時間に余裕を持って向かいましょう。

The grounds are extensive, so a tour can take close to an hour. Many rooms inside the residence are tatami-floored, and you'll need to remove your shoes in some areas.
