An ancient temple enshrined in Itabashi, Tsukubamirai City, long revered by local people. The temple grounds preserve unique amulets and talismans, visited by those praying for household safety and business prosperity. The quiet temple grounds surrounded by greenery provide a place of peace even in summer heat. It is also a fitting place to pray for the safe performance of the evening Tsunagi-bi.

つくばみらい市小張の小張愛宕神社を舞台に、2026年8月24日(月)19時から開催される「小張松下流綱火」です。国の重要無形民俗文化財に指定される綱火のひとつで、境内の木々の間に張り渡された縄を伝って、花火の力で人形や仕掛けがゆっくりと動く江戸時代からの伝統芸能です。昼間に訪れた谷和原総合公園や福岡堰さくら公園の開放的な時間から一転、夜の境内は幻想的な火の芸を見上げる家族連れでにぎわいます。屋台の出店状況は年により変わるため、夕食は道の駅常総で済ませておくと安心です。
Tips
祭り当日は神社周辺の駐車スペースが限られるため、早めの到着が安心です。火を使う伝統芸能のため、係員の指示に従い、指定された場所から見学しましょう。夜は虫が多い場合があるため、虫除け対策を忘れずに。
Tips
Convenient access by car from Fukuoka Dam Sakura Park. Visitation is free. In summer, resting in the temple's shade is also recommended.
Best time to visit
About 40 minutes. The shade under temple trees is cool and comfortable when sunlight is strongest.
