Admire Japan's oldest arch-type stone bridge

About this spot

This stone bridge spanning the Nakashima River is among Japan's oldest two-arch bridges. Its name comes from how its reflection in the water resembles eyeglasses. Legend has it that the bridge was built by a Buddhist monk from Kofukuji Temple during the early Edo period. It is cherished as one of Nagasaki's most iconic historical landmarks. A riverside promenade has been developed around the bridge, and visitors often search for heart-shaped stones visible in the water below.

Fireworks details

Name:

Date & time: 8/15 (Sat) 17:00–(夕暮れ–夜遅くまで)

Tips
