Worship at the National Treasure main hall with 1,400 years of history
About this spot
Known nationwide as a temple welcoming worshippers of all denominations for roughly 1,400 years, Zenko-ji's National Treasure main hall commands a solemn presence. The approach through the mountain gate conveys profound serenity. The unique "O-kaidan-meguri" beneath the hall lets visitors navigate a pitch-dark corridor by touch to touch a lock said to be directly below the main Buddha—legend promises salvation to those who do. An indelible experience for children and adults alike.
