View Massive Nebuta Floats Up Close

This facility displays large nebuta floats that were actually used in the Aomori Nebuta Festival year-round. The dimly lit interior creates an atmosphere where the giant nebuta floats appear to float in the darkness, and viewing them up close reveals both their impressive scale and the delicate craftsmanship of the samurai paintings on washi paper. There's a corner where you can try on the traditional dancer's costume, and exhibitions explaining the festival's history help build excitement for the evening's main event.

青森市内中心部を舞台に開かれる東北を代表する夏まつり「青森ねぶた祭」です。2026年は8月2日(日)から7日(金)にかけての6日間開催され、和紙と灯りで作られた高さ5メートルにも及ぶ大型ねぶたが、笛や太鼓のお囃子とともに市街地を練り歩きます。ねぶたを取り囲むように跳ねる「跳人(はねと)」の「ラッセラー、ラッセラー」という掛け声は祭り最大の見どころで、観客も一体となって夏の熱狂を味わえます。このコースでは初日である8月2日の夜を主役に据えています。昼間にねぶたの家ワ・ラッセで実物を見学したあとに本番を迎えることで、その迫力をより深く味わえる構成にしています。

Tips

祭り期間中は市内中心部が大規模な交通規制になり、公共交通機関の利用が安心です。有料観覧席は事前予約が確実です。跳人の衣装があれば飛び入り参加もできますが、ルールを守って参加しましょう。小さな子ども連れは人混みではぐれないよう手をつないで歩くと安心です。
