This facility displays the actual 23-meter-tall Tachinepu float used in the festival within a dedicated soaring atrium year-round. Upper floors offer bird's-eye views of the float, revealing both its overwhelming scale and intricate painted details. Exhibits showcase the construction process and festival history, making it the ideal preview before viewing the nighttime street parade.

2026年は8月4日から8日まで、五所川原市内中心市街地で夜19時から巨大な立佞武多が練り歩きます。高さ約23m・重さ約19tにもなる山車がビルの合間を進む姿はスケールが桁違いで、「ヤッテマレ」の掛け声とともに引き手たちが力強く曳く様子は圧巻です。もとは電線の敷設で一度姿を消した巨大山車を、地元の熱意で電線を地中化してまで復活させた歴史があり、街を挙げての祭りへの思いが今も込められています。灯りをまとった立佞武多が夜の街を照らしながら進む光景は、津軽の夏を締めくくるにふさわしい迫力です。

Tips

コース沿いは早い時間から場所取りが始まります。良い場所で見たい場合は18時台には沿道に着いておくと安心です。祭り期間中は周辺道路が通行止めになるため、公共交通機関の利用がおすすめです。

Tips

About 10 minutes walk from Goshogawara Station. The museum features stairs and ramps to access upper floors. Afternoons, especially early afternoon, are recommended to avoid summer holiday crowds.
