About this spot
The head shrine of approximately 1,300 Sengen Shrines throughout Japan and the center of Mt. Fuji faith. Wakutama Pond in the shrine grounds is a Special Natural Monument where snowmelt from Mt. Fuji springs forth, enveloped in cool air even in midsummer. Stopping at this center of the town's faith before the evening Miya Odori allows you to feel the deeper background of the festival.

2026年8月2日に開催される、富士宮の夏を締めくくる盆踊り「宮おどり」です。富士山本宮浅間大社周辺の目抜き通りに大きな輪ができ、地元の人たちが素朴な音頭に合わせてゆったりと踊ります。同じ富士宮市の御神火まつりのような勇壮な炎の祭りとは違い、誰でも輪に加わって一緒に踊れる親しみやすい雰囲気が魅力で、富士山の麓の街の夏の温かさを感じられる祭りです。
Tips
踊りの輪は誰でも自由に参加できます。浴衣や動きやすい服装で参加するとより一体感を楽しめます。周辺道路は交通規制がかかるので公共交通機関の利用がおすすめです。
Tips
About 20 minutes by car from Fujisan Children's Country. The shrine grounds are spacious, so walk to see the Wakutama Pond. The area around the pond remains cool even in summer and is perfect for resting.

About 40 minutes. Visiting in the calm afternoon is recommended
