Castle ruin with a panoramic view of Lake Nakumi and Mount Daisen from the summit
About this spot
Built on Minato Mountain at an elevation of about 90 meters, this castle ruin has lost its main tower, but the stone walls, which show the high stone masonry techniques of the time, remain in nearly perfect form. Climbing to the summit reveals a spectacular view of the vast surface of Lake Nakumi and the majestic Mount Daisen beyond, making it a popular viewing spot locally. The changing light colors as evening approaches also make for an impressive sight.

2026年の米子がいな祭は8月7日(金)から9日(日)までの3日間、米子市街地と米子港を中心に開催されます。祭りの名の由来にもなった「がいな(大きい・立派なという意味の方言)」にふさわしく、伝統の「がいな太鼓」の勇壮な演奏や、地域団体によるパレード、催しが会場を盛り上げます。中海に面した港町ならではの開放的な雰囲気の中、夜には花火が上がることもあり、米子の夏を締めくくるにふさわしい熱気に包まれます。
Tips
会場周辺は当日交通規制がかかるため、公共交通機関の利用が安心です。港周辺は夜になると涼しい風が吹くことがあるので、薄手の羽織ものがあると快適です。荒天時の開催可否は主催者の発表を確認しましょう。
Tips
The path to the summit continues with stone stairs and slopes, so visit in comfortable walking shoes. In summer, there is little shade, so don't forget a hat or drinks. Be aware that strong winds can blow on clear days due to the excellent views.
Best time to visit
About 1 hour required. Early afternoon when the air is clear offers views all the way to Mount Daisen.
