One of the starting points for a Mt. Hayachikune hiking route, this place is nestled in a valley surrounded by deep greenery with the sound of clear mountain streams. Even without serious hiking, you can feel the fresh air and the presence of the mountain up close, and truly understand why Hayachikune Shrine is connected to the faith in this sacred peak.

早池峰山への信仰を背景に古くから続く早池峰神社の例大祭で、2026年は8月1日10時から16時まで執り行われます。境内では、山伏神楽の系統を引く力強く荘厳な早池峰神楽が奉納され、その芸能はユネスコ無形文化遺産にも登録されています。太鼓と笛のお囃子に合わせて舞われる神楽は、勇壮な舞から優雅な舞まで演目が豊富で、山里の静かな境内に響く音色は、都会の祭りとはまた違った厳かな迫力があります。家族で一日、霊峰のふもとに息づく信仰と芸能の深さに触れられる貴重な機会です。
Tips
境内は山あいにあり駐車スペースが限られるため、早めの到着が安心です。日陰が少ない場所もあるので、帽子や日傘を用意しましょう。荒天時の日程変更は主催者の発表を確認してください。

The trail has some unpaved sections, so wear comfortable shoes. Stay to walks around the trailhead without entering the actual hiking trail.

About 25 minutes. Early morning is cool and has fewer insects, so it's recommended
