Zao: A Day of Ropeway Views and Highland Ranch Fun
A one-day course packed with breathtaking mountaintop views and hands-on ranch fun in Zao Highland (蔵王高原), the pride of Yamagata. In the morning, take to the sky on the Zao Ropeway (蔵王ロープウェイ) and pray for your family's safety at the Zao Jizo Bosatsu (蔵王地蔵尊) statue near the summit. Back at the foot of the mountain, take a relaxed walk along the promenade at Shigi-no-Yachi Pond (鴫の谷地沼) and take a break with the famous inaka-mochi (稲花餅) rice cakes.
