2026 Wajima Taisai (輪島大祭) Full Day Experience Course
A full day experience centered on Wajima Taisai (輪島大祭), the magnificent closing festival of Noto's summer (August 22, 2026, held around various shrines in central Wajima). During the day, enjoy the stunning scenery of sea and terraced rice paddies at Shirayone Senmaida (白米千枚田), which was also selected as one of Japan's 100 Best Rice Terraces. Visit Wajima Kiriko Hall (輪島キリコ会館) to experience the world of the festival's star attractions—giant Kiriko floats—and explore Wajima-nuri Hall (輪島塗会館) to learn the techniques of traditional Wajima lacquerware. In the evening, enjoy the sea breeze at Sodega-hama Beach, then head to the festival grounds around Juzou Shrine (重蔵神社). At night, watch as Kiriko floats of all sizes light up their lanterns and parade through town—an impressive display symbolizing Noto's summer. This course combines traditional crafts, the history of a port town, and a magnificent festival, all in one unforgettable day.
