2026 Hokkaido Sunpillar Park Water Play Plaza (北海道立サンピラーパーク 水遊びの広場) Full-Day Course
This full-day course stars the Hokkaido Sunpillar Park Water Play Plaza (Fountain) (北海道立サンピラーパーク 水遊びの広場(噴水)) in a prefectural park in Nayoro City (名寄市), northern Hokkaido. The venue is Hokkaido Sunpillar Park (北海道立サンピラーパーク) in Nayoro City, where the fountain-centred water play plaza can be enjoyed free of charge. In a typical year the period runs from Saturday 25 April to Tuesday 15 September; the official guidance gives the summer season as "late April to mid-September", and entry wearing outdoor shoes is prohibited. The park has an air dome (ふわふわドーム), flower fields, restrooms in the exchange hall and a car park, so even families with small children can spend an unhurried day here. In the morning, head first to the Nayoro City Kitaguni Museum (名寄市北国博物館). Alongside exhibits on life in northern Hokkaido shaped by snow and cold, the Kimaroki snow-clearing train formation (キマロキ編成) is preserved outdoors, and the imposing line-up of locomotives holds the attention of children and adults alike. In the afternoon, visit Nayoro City Observatory Kitasubaru (なよろ市立天文台きたすばる) inside Sunpillar Park. The large telescope and space exhibits make clear why Nayoro is called the town of starry skies. Then move on within the park to finish at the Water Play Plaza. Linking a museum, an observatory and water play with only short journeys in between is an arrangement only Nayoro can offer.
