2026 Sakana Park Jabujabu Splash Pond: A Full Day of Fun

A day spent close to home built around the Jabujabu splash pond in Sakana Park in Oshino Village (忍野村). Fed by spring water from Mount Fuji, the splash pond is a free water-play area where the clear, cold water feels wonderful. The park is open 9:00-17:00 and the park grounds 9:30-17:00, with daily opening from July 21 to August 31 in summer. The splash pond's opening period has not been announced, so check the official Oshino Village website for the latest information before you set out. The park has small waterfalls, streams and observation ponds, plus a playground area with a long slide and a ropeway-style structure, and the Forest Learning Center. On the same grounds stands the Yamanashi Prefectural Fuji Yusui no Sato Aquarium, where you can see fish raised in Mount Fuji spring water up close (the aquarium charges admission). In the morning, head to Oshino Hakkai (忍野八海), part of the World Cultural Heritage site. Walking among the transparent spring-fed ponds, you feel in your body how rich this land is in water. It is a day of water through and through, just as you would expect at the foot of Mount Fuji.
