A viewing spot along the road leading up to Mikuni Pass from the Lake Yamanaka shore, offering a true panoramic view of Lake Yamanaka below and Mount Fuji with its foothills beyond. Twilight is particularly beautiful, with the lake and sky bathed in crimson light—a dramatic and fitting finale to your date. In autumn, the surrounding slopes are covered with pampas grass that glows golden, creating a magnificent collaboration of grass fields and Mount Fuji.
Tips
Parking space is limited, so weekend evenings can get crowded. The elevation is high with strong winds, so bring a jacket as the temperature will feel considerably lower. The road is winding and steep, so drive carefully. Check the sunset time in advance to arrive at the most beautiful moment.
Best time to visit
Approximately 1 hour 15 minutes. Dusk when the lake and sky are bathed in color is the most spectacular time.
