A exhibition facility where you can experience the world of the Kishiwada Danjiri Festival year-round. The greatest attraction is being able to see actual danjiri floats up close. The delicate carvings on the zelkova wood frame are so beautiful you can't help but stare, and groups of festival enthusiasts will find the conversation flowing endlessly. The festival footage displayed on a giant screen captures the spectacle of "yarima washi" (勢いよく角を曲がる) as the floats take sharp turns at full speed, creating a sense of being right there in the action. There are hands-on experience corners where you can touch large drums, gongs, and flutes, as well as areas where you can experience what it's like to be a carpenter dancer on the festival roof. You can not only watch but actively participate and enjoy. Stopping here at the beginning of your castle town walk will deepen your appreciation of the streets that follow.

Tips

About a 7-minute walk from Takogeijzo Station (蛸地蔵駅) on the Nankai Main Line, and within walking distance of Kishiwada Station. If visiting this facility along with Kishiwada Castle and the Kishiwada Nature Museum, the 3-facility combined admission ticket (700 yen for adults) is economical—purchase it at the desk first. Closed Mondays (open if Monday is a holiday). Time your visit around the large-screen video showings to tour the facilities efficiently.
