The Kumano River is a great river running from north to south across the Kii Peninsula into Kumano Bay, and its embankment is tonight's fireworks viewing venue. Once you've spread your sheet for an evening spot reservation, spend the time until the show in leisure, cooled by the breeze off the river. As the sun sinks to the horizon, the color of the river surface shifts from orange to deep blue—a spectacular sight. The bustle of food stalls lining the embankment is also part of the pre-show entertainment. As the 7:30 PM start time approaches and the atmosphere of the venue builds, savor this time slowly.

Tips
荒天時の開催可否は新宮市の公式発表で確認を。終了後は周辺の道路と駐車場が大変混み合います。JR新宮駅利用の場合、終了後しばらく河川敷で余韻を楽しんでから移動する時間差帰宅がおすすめです。帰り道の足元は暗いため、小さなライトがあると安心。翌日8月14日が和歌山県の花火大会の多い時期のため、前後の交通手段も事前に確認しておきましょう。

About 15 to 20 minutes on foot from Shingu Station is the standard estimate. On the day of the fireworks festival, secure your viewing spot early. Along the riverside, insect repellent becomes necessary after sunset. Many food stall vendors accept cash only, so prepare small change. We recommend visiting restrooms early before the show begins.
Best time to visit
Approximately 45 minutes required. The most quiet and beautiful time of the day, where you can fully savor the changing colors of the river sunset.
