At and around the schoolyard of Oshino Junior High School, the fireworks venue, more and more families begin staking out viewing spots one to two hours before showtime. At dusk, Mt. Fuji and the surrounding mountains turn a deep amber, and Oshino Village's mountain landscape of fields and grassland glows quietly, a truly beautiful time of day. Enjoy the atmosphere of the summer festival's food stalls and vendors while spreading out a picnic sheet and relaxing as you wait for the show to begin. At about 900m elevation, Oshino Village starts to cool down from evening onward, so it is reassuring to have a light jacket ready at this point.

Tips

Crowds around the venue increase from the evening of the fireworks display, and nearby roads also get congested. Check the organizer's official information in advance for the location and closing time of temporary parking lots. Be sure to use the restroom before the show starts. Buying drinks and snacks early lets you relax without worrying about lines at the food stalls.
