An aquarium built on the waterfront near Kagoshima Port, with the official name "Io World Kagoshima Aquarium." Themed around the creatures of Kinko Bay and the Black Current beyond, the museum's largest tank features a magnificent whale shark. At the dolphin pool outside, you can observe bottlenose dolphins from the Black Current tank up close, enjoyable for both children and adults. On the west side of the building, views of Sakurajima lie directly ahead, allowing you to experience Kinko Bay—where tonight's fireworks will light up—in daylight. The museum's climate control makes it comfortable regardless of weather, a convenient feature for family travel.

「桜島と芸術花火」は、鹿児島市のマリンポートかごしまを舞台に、錦江湾越しに桜島を望みながら芸術花火を楽しむ大会です。音楽と連動した演出や、色・形の美しさを追求した芸術花火が次々と夜空に開き、対岸にそびえる桜島のシルエットとの対比が鹿児島ならではの壮大な景色を作り出します。港の広い空間から遮るものなく花火を見上げられる開放感も、この会場ならではの魅力。海面に映る花火の光もお見逃しなく。春の錦江湾の夜風の中で楽しむ芸術花火は、鹿児島の新しい風物詩として多くのファンを集めています。

Tips

荒天時の開催可否は大会公式の発表や鹿児島市の情報で当日確認を。終了後は周辺の道路・バス停が混雑するため、フィナーレ後はしばらく会場で余韻を楽しんでから移動するとスムーズです。帰宅手段(バス・タクシー・徒歩ルート)は事前に確認しておきましょう。足元が暗い場所もあるため、スマホのライトを活用してください。

Tips

Approximately 3 minutes on foot from the Suizokukan-guchi (Aquarium Entrance) tram station. Admission: ¥1,500 for adults, ¥750 for elementary and junior high students, free for infants (check age categories on the official website). Check the feeding times for the whale shark on museum displays for a more spectacular experience. Even during busy periods, tickets are usually purchased at the counter, so allow time and be prepared to queue.
