Takeda Shrine in Fukiage-cho, Hiji City, enshrines Shimazu Tadayoshi (Nisshinko), known as the ancestor of the Isaku Shimazu family. The grounds are quiet and surrounded by trees, and with fewer visitors in the morning, you can pray peacefully. This long-cherished local shrine is a perfect spot to pray for the safety of your day at the beach. The grounds have a parking lot, making it an easy stop at the start of this car-centered itinerary.

日置市の江口浜海浜公園海水浴場は、日本三大砂丘のひとつに数えられる吹上浜の一角に広がる海水浴場です。2026年は7月18日(土)から8月31日(月)まで開設され、遊泳時間は10時から17時まで。遠浅で波が穏やかな砂浜が続き、小さな子どもでも波打ち際で安心して水遊びを楽しめます。更衣室やシャワー棟、トイレといった設備も整っており、売店の江口蓬莱館では軽食や飲み物も調達可能。手ぶらに近い気軽さで訪れられる、家族連れにやさしい海水浴場です。夕方まで、砂遊びと波遊びで鹿児島の夏をたっぷり満喫しましょう。

Tips

入場は無料ですが、シャワー(100円/約2分)やコインロッカー(100円)は有料です。小銭を用意しておきましょう。夏の砂浜は日中とても熱くなるので、ビーチサンダルは必携です。遊泳時間は17時までなので、着替えの時間を見込んで16時45分ごろには水から上がるのがおすすめです。

Tips

About 10 minutes by car from Eguchi Beach Marine Park. The grounds have unpaved areas, so be careful with strollers. Visiting in the cool morning allows for easier movement on the rest of your outing.
