On the day of the fireworks display, viewers gradually begin to gather around Monbetsu Port's No. 1 Pier (紋別港第1ふ頭) from the evening onward. Since the location opens out toward the sea, securing a spot lets you enjoy the fireworks in comfort. As the sun sets and the horizon of the Sea of Okhotsk turns a deep amber, gather around the dinner you've picked up and wait for the show to begin. The lively atmosphere unique to a port festival is also part of the fun at this time.

Tips

It can get chilly along the Sea of Okhotsk at night, so don't forget something to wear over your clothes. It's also reassuring to check the location of restrooms while it's still light out. Please be sure to take all your trash home with you.

About 2 hours 30 minutes. Around sunset is when the sea view looks its most beautiful
