Return to Hakutori Shrine in the evening after your midday visit to enjoy the festive atmosphere of the Summer Festival. Food stalls and vendors begin to line the shrine grounds and approach, immersing you in festival atmosphere as locals gather. As night falls, the crowd drawn by the fireworks grows, so it's recommended to secure a good viewing spot during this time.

Tips

About 10 minutes by car from the Hiketa town streets. The shrine grounds and surrounding roads become very crowded from the evening onward on the day of the Summer Festival. Most food stalls accept cash only, so have small change ready.

Best time to visit

Approximately 3 hours 15 minutes. Around sunset is when the festival atmosphere is at its peak.
