A walking course with a wide levee path along the Sendai River that flows through Yokogawa. As you walk while feeling the river breeze, the summer heat becomes more bearable. A spot beloved by locals, it's also a perfect place to rest before the evening fireworks.

霧島市横川町の夏を締めくくる、よこがわ夏まつりの花火大会です。大隅横川駅付近の夜空に約1,000発の花火が次々と打ち上がり、駅前商店街のにぎわいとともに地域全体が夏祭りのムードに包まれます。地元の人々が中心となって続けてきたお祭りならではの、温かく懐かしい雰囲気に包まれる夜です。
Tips
荒天時は中止や順延の可能性があるため、当日は霧島市や祭りの公式発表を確認しましょう。会場周辺は夕方以降混み合うため、早めの場所取りがおすすめです。終了後は周辺道路が混み合うため、時間差での帰宅も検討しましょう。

About 10 minutes by car from Maruike Yusui. The levee path has little shade, so a hat or parasol is recommended.
Best time to visit
Approximately 1 hour. The afternoon breeze is most pleasant.
