Japan's first authentic government-operated silk mill, built in the Meiji era, and a historic structure registered as a UNESCO World Heritage site that represents Tomioka City. Tips
荒天時は中止・順延となる場合があるため、当日の開催可否は主催者の発表で確認しましょう。終了後は周辺道路が混雑するため、少し余韻を楽しんでからの帰宅がおすすめです。足元が暗いので、スマホのライトがあると安心です。
Tips
About 15 minutes walk from Joshu Tomioka Station (上州富岡駅). Admission fee is required. Since there is much outdoor walking in summer, don't forget a hat, parasol, and water. Using a guided tour enhances the experience.
Best time to visit
Approximately 1 hour 30 minutes required. Late morning to early afternoon is recommended for cooler weather.
