About this spot

This is the townscape of Shido that stretches along the old Sanuki Kaido (讃岐街道), near JR Shido Station. Local shops and eateries are dotted throughout, giving it a modest atmosphere where you can sense the daily life of local residents. On the day of the festival, it grows especially lively from the evening onward, making it a great spot to grab a quick bite before heading to the Shido Bay waterfront, the festival venue.

Tips

About a 15-minute drive from Ogushi Nature Park. The area starts to get crowded in the evening with people heading to the festival, so exploring earlier makes for a smoother stroll.
