It also showcases the artistic and craft mastery that townspeople, enriched by silk weaving, competed to perfect. Inside, you'll learn the history of the floats and other festival traditions of Johana, offering another perspective on this town distinct from tonight's Mugiya Festival.

2026年9月20日、城端別院善徳寺と城端伝統芸能会館じょうはな座を中心に開催される城端むぎや祭は、隣接する五箇山地方に伝わる民謡「麦屋節」を、城端の人々が町をあげて踊り継ぐ祭りです。編笠を目深にかぶった男踊りの勇壮さ、しなやかな女踊りの手さばきが、しみじみとした哀調を帯びた三味線と歌にあわせて夜の寺町に浮かび上がります。曳山祭とはまた違う、静けさと哀愁をたたえたこの祭りは、絹と信仰の町として栄えた城端のもうひとつの顔を映し出す秋の行事です。

会場周辺は夜になると多くの見物客でにぎわい、駐車場が早い時間に満車になることがあります。公共交通機関や周辺の臨時駐車場情報を事前に確認しておくと安心です。夜は気温が下がりやすいので、羽織ものを忘れずに。
